And the Grand Prize is…

The IMUSE team is excited to have more details regarding the China in My Eyes Essay and Photo Contest grand prize. Winners from both the photo contest and essay contest will be invited to attend the two-week long IMUSE Summer 2008 Olympic Fellowship. The fellowship will include a round-trip air ticket to Beijing, dining and accommodations in the home of one of the 2008 IMUSE delegates, and the opportunity to explore Beijing through a number of activities, including visits to Beijing's major cultural attractions, guest lectures, a visit to the Beijing Olympic headquarters, and the chance to attend a number of Olympic competitions.¹ The fellowship will be a unique opportunity to experience Beijing in the midst of the Olympics, while getting to know some of the most talented students at the two top universities in China. Essay Competition.

Three (3) grand prize winners from the essay contest will be selected to receive their choice of two prizes:

1. Admission into the two-week-long IMUSE 2008 Beijing Olympics Fellowship Program, from August 1, 2008, to August 14, 2008, which includes a round-trip air ticket to Beijing, dining and accommodations in the home of one of the IMUSE 2008 delegates, and the opportunity to explore Beijing through a number of activities, including visits to Beijing’s major cultural attractions, a visit to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games headquarters, and the chance to attend a number of Olympic competitions.
2. A new laptop computer

Ten (10) more winners will be selected to receive official 2008 Beijing Olympics collectibles.

The entries of all winners will be published on the IMUSE website, with permission of their authors.

Winners will be announced in April.

¹ We regret that we will be unable to offer the official volunteership as originally stated in the contest rules. Unfortunately, the Beijing Olympic Committee only has need for English teachers at the very beginning of the summer, in the initial preparation stages. Should the fellowship package have been planned in such a way as to permit the volunteership, the chance to actually attend some of the Olympics would have been impossible. In putting together the prize package the IMUSE team decided that the chance to actually attend the Olympics would be a much more valuable opportunity to our prizewinners. We hope that you will agree with our decision and not be discouraged to participate in the contest by this change.
